August 25 NH Growers Dinner to benefit the NH Food Bank. This event will be held at the NH Food Bank’s new warehouse facilities in Manchester. August 26 Celebrate NH Eat Local Month. Join the Mondanock Farm & Community Connection (MFCC) for an evening of local food and fun at Granite Gorge Ski Area in Roxbury. Featured foods include a pig roast, beef on the barbeque, sweet corn, roasted vegetables and more. Entertainment will be provided by Otis Doncaster nad the Elevators and John Cucchi and friends, as well as other local musiciians to be announced. August 28 Family-Friendly Farmer’s Market at St. Joseph Hospital. St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua will host a community farmer’s market on Saturday, August 28, from 10 am to 2 pm. Local farmers will sell fresh fruits, vegetables, maple products, and other locally grown and produced foods on the St. Joseph Hospital campus (Lake Street parking lot). The event is free and open to the public. In addition to local farmers, there will be a Healthy Chef Competition from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. Local chefs will battle with secret healthy ingredients to showcase their recipe creations. The goal of the market is to offer healthy, local food options in a convenient, environmental-friendly-way at a fun, community event.
