Become a Member of FoodCorps

Become a FoodCorps service volunteer in 2013 and help be part of the future of food!

Since August, our current crop of service members has reached nearly 40,000 kids around the country, introducing them to kale and purple carrots, bringing them out into the garden to grow and harvest, and giving them a shot at a healthier future.

At the same time, through their service, our 80 service members have become better teachers and better gardeners— paving the way for their future careers as educators, farmers, chefs, and public health advocates.

We are seeking up to 130 future leaders to address childhood obesity and food insecurity through our three-ingredient recipe for change: teaching kids about healthy food and where it comes from, growing school gardens, and getting high-quality local food into public school cafeterias.

Service member Jacob Marquez explained his passion for his position saying “My time in the classroom has given me new hope for the future of our food in this country.”
