Pumpkin Smash at the Portsmouth Farmers’ Market

October 28, 2023 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Pumpkin Smash

On Saturday, October 28 from 8AM-12PM, at the Portsmouth Farmers’ Market, we will be hosting our annual Halloween tradition that has become the October catharsis of choice for young and old alike… You guessed it, it’s the PUMPKIN SMASH!

Unfamiliar with this event? It’s simple. Pick a pumpkin from the pile, choose from an arsenal of mallets, two-by-fours, or the trusty ol’ Louisville Slugger, and swing away. Costumes are strongly encouraged!

The price is is $5 per pumpkin. This is a fundraiser for the Portsmouth Halloween Parade and all pumpkins are fed to pigs following the smash so there’s no waste. Smash a pumpkin, feed a pig, support the parade — it’s that easy!

There will also be a raffle for baskets filled with goodies supplied by the vendors at the market. And if you haven’t gotten your new t-shirt or hoodie, you can pick one up here! Again, all proceeds will go to the Portsmouth Halloween Parade.

REMEMBER… New Hampshire’s biggest Halloween parade is brought to you by the people, for the people. The parade is NOT a city-sponsored event. It is staged by volunteers and funded solely by the community, primarily through grassroots events like this one. Thank you for your support.
