The Sunflower Journey: Seed to Oil

June 4, 2023 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Join us on an unforgettable adventure at Coppal House Farm and witness the sunflower’s incredible journey from seed to oil! You may have seen the majestic blooms at our Sunflower Festival, but now you have the chance to discover the fascinating process behind this versatile crop.

Led by the owners, Carol and John Hutton, this workshop will take you on a behind-the-scenes tour of their 78-acre diversified family farm in Lee, New Hampshire. From planting to harvesting to production and bottling, you will witness every step of the sunflower’s journey and gain insight into its many uses as a crop.

Step inside the oil seed building for a close-up look at how the beautiful golden oil is extracted and transformed into a staple ingredient for all your cooking needs. As you explore the farm, you’ll learn how this one crop plays an integral role in every aspect of the farm’s operation, from sustainability to profitability.

Get ready to be inspired and amazed by the sunflower’s incredible journey, and discover how you can be a part of this exciting crop’s story.
