Come get acquainted with the wonderful world of fermented foods. We’ll discuss the process, equipment and safety of fermentation as we sample a variety of fermented products from Thirty Acres Farm, Lalibela Farm, and Urban Farm Fermentory. Kefir, kombucha, tempeh, and maple sweetened goat’s milk yogurt may seem “weird” to you now, but not for long, as you learn safe fermentation techniques from Kathy Savoie, UMaine Extension Educator; Kate McCarty, Food Preservation Community Education Assistant; and Valerie Saurer, UMaine Extension Master Food Preserver volunteer.
Instructors: Kathy Savoie, Kate McCarty, and Valerie Saurer
