As we wrap up another season of Winter Farmers’ Markets, we reflect on the importance of eating local: “If you want to change the world, change what you eat. Food is one area of your life where small modifications can have a big impact. For one thing, you probably eat three or four meals a day, so any decision you make is multiplied a thousandfold over the course of a year. A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who has made the success of these markets possible: Our wonderful vendors who grow and produce such amazing food, the attendees who understand and appreciate the value of local food, our generous sponsors and dedicated volunteers, the musicians, non-profit organizations, local chefs, and everyone else who helped to create such a dynamic and diverse atmosphere.

Use SNAP & Debit Cards at the Market
All vendors at the Winter Farmers’ Markets accept SNAP/EBT! At the market, SNAP recipients can choose how much they would like to spend that day on food purchases. A market staff member will then swipe their EBT card for that amount. The customer is then given wooden tokens, which are used just like cash, and can be used to buy food at approved vendors at the market. Learn more about shopping with SNAP.
