Local seedlings = happy plants

Black Kettle Farm seedlings

Skip those big box stores, and convince your friends and neighbors to do the same! You can purchase all the seedlings and transplants you’d like from local farms, and get healthy plants of really interesting varieties.

New Roots Farm and Stout Oak Farm both offer certified organic seedling preorders, but hurry! The deadline is this week!

You’ll also find lots of seedlings at farmers’ markets, which start this week. The Exeter Farmers’ Market starts this Thursday, May 2, 2:15-6pm, North Berwick starts Friday May 3, 3-6pm, and on Saturday May 4th, Kennebunk, Portsmouth, Sanford, Farmington and Newmarket are all happening. Take a look at our calendar for more market opening dates >

Here’s a fun fact! SNAP benefits can be used to purchase plants that produce food!

  1. If you’re late on your garden planning, feel free to send your preorder in after the deadline 🙂 May 15 at the latest. All varieties may not be available by then, but we’ll do our best 🙂
