The Rye Farmers’ Market is hosting a Seafood Throwdown on Wednesday, August 14th at 3pm.

Join local cooks Jesse Minard from Serenity Cafe in Rye and Ian Whipple from Anneke Jans in Kittery, Maine as they take part in a friendly cooking competition inspired by local seafood. Jesse and Ian will create flavorful dishes using a surprise seafood ingredient and fresh local produce from the Rye Farmers’ Market.

The Seafood Throwdown is sponsored by Northeast Atlantic Marine Alliance. NAMA began the Seafood Throwdown as a way of promoting the ecological and economic importance of locally caught seafood while building a broader base of support for efforts to transform fisheries and ocean policies.

Come meet the cooks, learn about sustainable seafood, and taste their delicious seafood dishes at the 2013 Rye Farmers’ Market Seafood Throwdown.
