🥕 We are looking for photos that Celebrate Local Food -- whatever that means to you!
🥕All photos must have been taken by the photographer within York, Strafford, or Rockingham counties.
🥕 Submit up to 3 entries and read the full contest rules and photo requirements on our website.
🥕 The winning photo will be on the cover of the 2023 Seacoast Harvest local food guide and the winner will receive a t-shirt.
🥕 All participants will be entered into a raffle for farmers' market tokens.

The weather was, let's say persistent!, but we didn't let it get in the way of a fantastic evening spent celebrating the variety of local food in the region!

Many thanks to:
👨‍🍳 @chef_evan and his staff at @blacktrumpetnh for the hard work they put in all day and especially during the event.
🧑‍🤝‍🧑 All the folks who came out to enjoy the dinner for their support of Seacoast Eat Local and local food.

As you may know, 2022 was our first year operating the Dover, Durham, Exeter, and Portsmouth Farmers' Markets. These markets were previously managed by the Seacoast Growers Association (SGA) for 40 years.

In January of 2022 membership of SGA decided to disband the association and asked us to take over market management. As part of their process, the SGA board of directors recently distributed their remaining financial assets to Seacoast Eat Local ($30,000) and @vouchersforveterans ($10,000).

The money will go towards organizational support to strengthen our ability to operate high quality markets year-round as well as to support youth education programs.

We are beyond grateful for the support SGA has given us during this transition in management. Join us in thanking them for the many decades of operating these markets and the desire for them to succeed for many years to come.

Last week, 100 families at the Dondero School in Portsmouth received Celebration Bags containing $100 worth of local food!

🎉 The bags celebrated the end of the pilot crEATe program, a partnership with SEL & @redsgoodvibes.
🎉 The program provided kids the chance to cook with local, seasonal foods at home while also creating valuable exposure for local farms to grow their businesses.
🎉 During 2022, nearly $25,000 of local food was purchased and distributed!

In 2023, we are looking to offer the crEATe program to multiple schools simultaneously. If you are a parent, teacher, or school administrator interested in trying out the crEATe program at your school, please email Celeste Gingras at celeste @ seacoasteatlocal.org.

We've got some exciting news: we moved!!! 🏠

Not out of the Seacoast, of course, but rather deeper into its heart as our offices are now located on a working farm -- @tuckawayfarmnh in Lee, NH!

We are so thrilled to be at Tuckaway and so thankful to the Cox family for having the vision of widening their farm into a community local food hub.
